Post-Flood Drywall Options
DRY & REPAINT
Understandably, many of our customers want to know if their drywall can be saved. If the drywall was not insulated and the source of the flood was clean water, we can attempt to salvage your walls using a professional-grade dehumidifier or other drying techniques.
Once the wall has been dried, it will need to be repainted and finished for protection and aesthetic purposes.
If the damage has occurred to a wall that has insulation, we will likely suggest a flood cut. Unfortunately, soaked insulation is ruined insulation.
A flood cut is made 12-18 inches above where the flood damage ends. This allows us to replace your insulation and make any necessary repairs behind the drywall.
If the flooding was severe, we may need to replace entire sheets of drywall. Mold behind drywall necessitates a total removal to ensure the safety and well-being of your family. Action Restoration can remove your drywall, replace it, repaint it and make it look like the flood never happened.
